Current Testing Opportunities – Monday, June 4th, 2018 – CCS Test Prep®

  UPDATE (June 4, 2018) - The current New Jersey entry-level police officer written-testing opportunities with application periods open at this time include three municipal police departments with more expected to announce in the days and weeks to come. The Morris County Alternate Route Program will open the application period on June 25th, 2018, while the three police departments: Old Bridge Township (Middlesex County); Bridgewater Township Police Department (Somerset County); and the Toms River Police Department (Ocean County) all have open application periods at this time. Most of the testing opportunities will involve the use of either the IOS NCJOSI v1 (90 min) exam or the IOS NCJOSI v2 (2.5 hour) exam as administered by the New Jersey State Association of Chiefs of Police (NJSACOP), while occasionally, a department will choose to use a different test vendor. Understanding the IOS Next Generation Law Enforcement Aptitude Test (NGLE) – CCS Test Prep – May 21, 2018

Testing Update (5/21/2018): The national test-writing company, Industrial-Organization Solution (also known as I/O Solutions or IOS), now has a new entry-level law enforcement examination. This examination differs significantly from any other examination on the market and is an example of the evolution of non-cognitive and cognitive law enforcement testing. This new exam is known as the Next Generation Law Enforcement Aptitude Test (NGLE) and currently consists of 136 questions and is 3 hours and 15 minutes in length. The foundation and primary component of the test consists of 96 Situation Judgement (multiple-choice) questions. That section is followed by Reading Comprehension passages with 20 associated questions, then a 20 question English-Grammar section. New York State Police Entry Exam Results are Available! Congratulations to CCS Test Prep® Students with Exceptional Scores – Wednesday, May 16, 2018

The New York State Police (NYSP) entry-level examination results have been made available to candidates from the October of 2017 testing cycle. Candidates who participated in the most recent exam cycle can go to: http://www.nytrooper.com/exam_scores and obtain their results. Congratulations to the CCS Test Prep® students who completed the exam prep program and demonstrated that consistent and diligent work pays off with consistent scores of 99+ on the written exam. I was fortunate to have an exceptional group of future NYSP Troopers who, as expected, achieved at the highest level on the exam. The NYSP utilized the Law Enforcement Aptitude Battery (LEAB-II) as produced by the EB Jacobs (PSI) company for the most recent testing cycle which is a 329 question, multi-factor, psychometric exam that is administered over a 3 hour and 40 minute test period. Barnegat Township PD Applications NOW OPEN – CCS Test Prep®- Apps Closing Friday, October 13, 2023

The Barnegat Twp Police Department (Ocean County - NJ) has opened the application period via PoliceApp.com with the deadline for applications set as Friday, October 13, 2023. The competitive written exam is scheduled for Thursday, October 26, 2023. Other important dates include: Physical Agility Testing on Thursday, October 19, 2023 and Oral Interviews during the week of November 13th, 2023. The testing and selection process is very competitive. Current Testing Opportunities – Monday, April 30th, 2018 – CCS Test Prep®

UPDATE (April 30, 2018) - The current New Jersey entry-level police officer testing opportunities with application periods open at this time include two Alternate Route Program (police academy) exams as well as several municipal police departments. Most of the testing opportunities will involve the use of either the IOS NCJOSI v1 (90 min) exam or the IOS NCJOSI v2 (2.5 hour) exam as administered by the New Jersey State Association of Chiefs of Police (NJSACOP). The municipal police departments currently include the Emerson Police Department in Bergen County and the Washington Township Police Department in Morris County. Providence (Rhode Island) PD Exam Prep – CCS Test Prep® – Begins April 28th, 2018

ANNOUNCEMENT: The Providence Police Department (Rhode Island) will complete three weeks of physical assessment of candidates by April 22, 2018, and move on to the written examination on Saturday, May 19, 2018. Those candidates who performed well on the physical and are fortunate enough to progress to the written exam can prepare for the written examination with CCS Test Prep®. The Providence Police Department has chosen to once again use the IOS NCJOSI v2 exam which has proven to be an extremely challenging exam with 40% to 60% of candidates commonly failing the exam while most others who pass achieve very low scores. Washington Twp PD (Morris County) – Application Period NOW OPEN! CCS Test Prep® – April 12, 2018

ANNOUNCEMENT: The Washington Township Police Department (Morris County) has announced their hiring process which includes a written examination as part of the process. The online application can be accessed at: Washington Township (Morris County) PD Online Application. The educational and/or military service requirements are as follows: Possess an Associates's degree from an accredited college; OR Completion of at least 60 credits from an accredited college; OR a minimum of 3 years of military service with honorable discharge. The college requirements must be met by July 1, 2018. SPECIAL NOTICE: The Monmouth County (Non-Civil Service) Police Exam is experiencing record application submissions with the initial four testing sessions scheduled for Monday, May 14, 2018; Tuesday, May 15, 2018; Wednesday, May 16, 2018; and Thursday, May 17th, 2018, CLOSED OUT as FULL.  The Monmouth County Chiefs of Police Association has added an additional fifth testing date to accommodate the high demand. After closing out the four testing dates, the Chiefs Association has added Friday, March 18th, 2018, as a test date. 2019 NJ LEE (Civil Service) Cycle UPDATE! – CCS Test Prep® – Sunday, April 8, 2018

Subject: LEE 2019 Testing Cycle UPDATE The New Jersey Civil Service Commission (NJCSC) just released an update indicating that the next Law Enforcement Exam (LEE) cycle will NOT be formally announced until some time in 2019. This is a significant announcement, as the current results (eligible's pool) from the 2016 cycle will now remain active throughout 2018, and into, if not through all of 2019 until the next set of results are released some time in late 2019 or 2020. Dr. David A. Paprota, Ed.D. (Chief of Police - Ret.) is actively tracking which exam the NJCSC will be using for the 2019 LEE cycle. The contracted test-writing company, EB Jacobs (Pennsylvania), was purchased by PSI (California/Nevada) in September of 2017. The previously administered exam, the LEAB-II by EB Jacobs, is being evaluated under the new company's philosophy on exam construct and scoring, so changes are expected before the 2019 test.
