NJ LEE Prep Classes are Completed!
Why CCS Test Prep®?
CCS Test Prep® is the #1 exam preparation company in New Jersey and is focused on preparing police, sheriffs, and corrections candidates for the New Jersey Civil Service Commission (NJCSC) Law Enforcement Examination (LEE). The company founder, Chief David A. Paprota, Ed.D., has over 28 years experience in successfully preparing candidates to achieve the highest scores in the state on the entry-level Law Enforcement Exam (LEE). Prepare to achieve a perfect score with CCS Test Prep®. Seminars are scheduled at convenient locations throughout New Jersey.
Candidates who registered for the CCS Test Prep® program were provided every advantage possible. Our two-day or three-evening seminars are packed with focused in-class instruction, testing, and a special binder full of materials that students take home to continue their studies. Furthermore, as a critical part of the program, students sit for a short Diagnostic Exam (Day 1), and then on the last day, a longer Final Exam. Both exams are computer-scored in class and each student is provided detailed, individualized scoring reports which identify the student’s strengths and weaknesses going into their home studies. A thorough in-class review of the Final Exam is used to reinforce the strategies and to also allow each student to identify any personal deficiencies.
The EXTRA Touch Toward Perfection
Beyond the paid seminar, Chief David A. Paprota, Ed.D. (Ret.) extended the extra, invaluable bonus of providing students access to the CCS Test Prep® Online Learning Platform for a 5-day period close to each student’s actual test date and time. This is a FREE bonus that is done to ensure a high level of confidence, knowledge, and understanding going into the actual test. Students have the opportunity to take dozens of automated short quizzes online which are instantly scored with answer guides for immediate feedback. These online quizzes and the focused reinforcement provided have proven invaluable to students. In 2019, the NJCSC conducted the actual test administration only on Saturdays with the date options were set as November 2nd, 9th, 16th, and 23rd as well as December 7th and 14th at the following county college locations: Bergen, Passaic, Hudson, Essex, Union, Middlesex, Ocean, Mercer, Camden, and Atlantic/Cape.
Perfection is not only possible but is expected with the CCS Test Prep® program.

New Jersey Civil Service LEE
The Civil Service Application Period
In 2019, the New Jersey Civil Service Commission (NJCSC) opened the application period for the LEE testing cycle on Monday, July 1, 2019 and closed the online application portal on August 31, 2019 at 4 p.m. New Jersey implemented a new system for the scheduling of candidates for the exam. Those who applied with the NJCSC for the actual exam had the opportunity to select a test date, time, and location from a long list of options provided through the SignUpGenius online portal. This meant that candidates were able to choose a test date throughout the testing cycle that best matched up with their comfort level from the date of attendance in the prep program. The actual testing dates were scheduled for Saturdays at community college sites around the state for the seven-week period of November 2, 2019 through December 14, 2019. The NJCSC used county college facilities in Bergen County, Passaic County, Hudson County, Essex County, Union County, Middlesex County, Ocean County, Mercer County, Camden County, and Atlantic County. Candidates had the ability to choose any of the locations and were not limited to their home county.
Choosing a Date to Attend the Prep Course
Most candidates chose the earliest available course dates to provide more time for study before the exam. I have developed a system of very focused review to take students up to the time of the their actual exam, so early prep is recommended. Likewise, candidates were able to choose whether they wanted to attend two days of prep back-to-back or choose a course option that had days or even more than a week between in-class sessions. That is a personal preference. Candidates were able to choose ANY of the available seminars. The course offerings closed out as they filled up, so EARLY REGISTRATION to reserve seat for the perfect class became important during the 2019 cycle.
The NJ LEE
The LEE is a very important exam, as it includes varied law enforcement titles and has only been administered once every three years. It will likely not be administered again until late 2022. The titles covered by the exam include: Municipal Police Officer, Campus Police Officer Recruit, County Police Officer, Park Police Officer, Police Officer Recruit Human Services, Police Officer Palisades Interstate Park, Sheriff’s Officer, County Correction Officer, State Correctional Police Officer (NJDOC) and State Correctional Police Officer Juvenile Justice. Well over 30,000 candidates sit for the LEE. Candidates must achieve exceptional test scores in order to be among the top candidates eligible to be considered for openings during the 3-year list. Proper preparation is critical when taking this very competitive exam!
Those candidates who sat for the 2019 NJDOC exam on April 17, 2019 were required to sit for the test again if they apply for the NJ LEE. The NJCSC decided that the scores would NOT carry over from the April NJDOC test to the 2019 NJ LEE.
The State of New Jersey chose the PSI testing company as the vendor to write and administer the LEE exam. The specific exam utilized is a multi-factor psychometric test that has proven to be the most comprehensive, valid, and reliable entry-level law enforcement exam available nationally. This is the exact type of exam which served as the basis of much of Chief Paprota’s doctoral research.
