Announcement (7/2/2019): The Ocean County Association of Chiefs of Police and the Ocean County Police Academy have opened the application period for the upcoming Alternate Route Program examination. The exam is specifically for candidates who wish to compete for a slot in the police academy through the "Alternate Route Program" as well as those candidates who would like to be eligible for Special Law Enforcement Officer (SLEO) positions in 22 participating agencies. This is a great opportunity for those who are working toward a career in law enforcement. The process is extremely competitive and begins with the administration of a competitive written exam followed by a physical agility assessment and ultimately an oral interview. The New Jersey Parole Officer Recruit position is one of the most competitive and sought after positions in the State of New Jersey. Very highly qualified and motivated applicants commonly seek the position. The current New Jersey Civil Service Commission announcement and application period is set to close on Friday, June 21, 2019. The Manchester Twp Police Department (NJ) is currently accepting applications for entry-level Police Officer and Class II Special Officer positions. The department has significant hiring needs and is looking for top level candidates for full-time positions. The Suffolk County (NY) Police Exam Application Period Extended to April 17, 2019 The Suffolk County Civil Service Commission has extended the application period for candidates to complete the online process of applying to sit for the 2019 Suffolk County Police Exam.  The Suffolk County Civil Service application period now closes on April 17, 2019 and the actual Police Officer Exam is scheduled to be administered on Saturday, June 15, 2019. Update (3/13/2019): The Recruitment personnel of the New Jersey State Police have announced that the formal online application period for the next competitive testing and selection process for NJSP Trooper candidates has been set. The application period is set to open on Monday, April 29, 2019 and close on Sunday, May 12, 2019. The process begins with the submission of the online application during the open period. Once the applications are reviewed, eligible candidates will be invited to a physical assessment (push-ups, sit-ups, and 1.5 mile run). Those who pass the physical assessment then are invited (at a later date) to sit for a full day of written testing. Testing Announcement (March 4, 2019) - The officials of the NJIT Police Department in Newark, NJ have announced the entry-level written exam for the position of Institutional Police Officer. This position does not fall under the age restriction of municipal police officer positions, so candidates 35 and older are eligible to compete and be hired.
