Announcement (7/2/2019): The Ocean County Association of Chiefs of Police and the Ocean County Police Academy have opened the application period for the upcoming Alternate Route Program examination. The exam is specifically for candidates who wish to compete for a slot in the police academy through the “Alternate Route Program” as well as those candidates who would like to be eligible for Special Law Enforcement Officer (SLEO) positions in 22 participating agencies.
This is a great opportunity for those who are working toward a career in law enforcement. The process is extremely competitive and begins with the administration of a competitive written exam followed by a physical agility assessment and ultimately an oral interview. The next Ocean County Police Academy class is scheduled to begin in October of 2019.
