The officials of the NJ Transit Police Department announced a competitive selection process for 2022. The application period opened on January 31, 2022 at 9 a.m. via PoliceApp.com. The NJ Transit Police Department only accepted the first 2,000 applicants. The maximum number of applications are commonly submitted quickly and many prospective candidates are not able to apply. Those who successfully applied were assigned a physical assessment date of March 12th, 13th, 19th or 20th, 2022, as the first step in the process. After passing the physical fitness assessment, candidates were then invited to sit for the written exam on either April 23rd or April 24th, 2022. This is a very fair process. The seemingly large pool of candidates dwindles quickly at each step of the process. Those who put the work and commitment into their preparation and skill development are in the best position to advance in the process to get hired.
